Good race preparation goes beyond training – it’s also about what you bring with you to the start zone. The Wizz Air Sofia Marathon 2025 will take place over two days: on Saturday, October 11, the 5K FIB Mass Run kicks things off, while on Sunday, October 12, the main distances begin – the 10K Garmin Run, the 21.1K half marathon, and the 42.2K full marathon. All races start and finish at Battenberg Square, where the event area is designed to be convenient for both participants and spectators.

What’s in the race pack?

Runners receive their race packs at the marathon office during Marathon Expo. Here’s what’s included:

For 10K, 21K, and 42K participants:
– A special t-shirt with the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon logo
– A race-day bag for storing personal items in the gear area
– Race bib and 4 safety pins to attach it to your clothes
– A UHF electronic chip for timekeeping

For 5K participants:
– Race bib and 4 safety pins
– UHF electronic chip

Important: The chip is attached to your bib and is essential for tracking your race time. Without it, your result will not be recorded.

Is there a gear check?

Yes – a designated gear check area will be available near the start/finish zone where participants can leave their personal belongings. Only the official race bags with a numbered sticker matching your bib number (provided in your race pack) will be accepted. Organizers are not responsible for any valuables, including electronics or jewelry, so it’s best to leave those at home on race day.

Runner’s checklist – what to bring on marathon day:
