For the third consecutive year, Wizz Air Sofia Marathon will feature a programme of entertainment and activities along the course. Music, dancing, DJ sets, art and various activities will welcome participants at key locations, turning the race days on October 10 and 11 into a celebration not only for runners, but for the entire city.

Over the past two editions, we have seen just how important these zones have become to the atmosphere of the marathon. More and more people come out along the course to support the participants, while the music and cheering provide an extra boost exactly when the kilometres start to feel harder.

That is why, in 2026, we are once again inviting you not just to watch the marathon, but to become part of it.

What Can You Expect Along the Course?

Music and entertainment zones will be located at various points across Sofia, with some of them combined with aid stations hosted by the marathon’s partners:

Supporting the Runners Is Part of the Marathon Too

Anyone who has taken part in a major running event knows how much support from the crowd can mean. Sometimes a song, a round of applause or a few words of encouragement are enough to make the next kilometre feel a little easier.

The atmosphere will once again be especially exciting at the ASICS Cheering Zone, located just metres from the finish line in the area around Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. and Rakovski Blvd. There, spectators will welcome runners during the final metres of their race and give them one last boost towards the finish line.

Come Out Along the Course on October 10 and 11

You don’t need a race bib to be part of Wizz Air Sofia Marathon 2026.

If a friend or family member is taking part, come out and support them. And even if you don’t know anyone at the starting line, join us for the atmosphere. Sing, dance, cheer and share some of your energy with the thousands of participants from Bulgaria and around the world.

Because Sofia Marathon is a race, but it is also one of the capital’s biggest celebrations of sport.

On October 10 and 11, the streets belong to the runners, but the celebration is for everyone.
