The final meters before the finish line are always special. Whether it is a first completed 5K race, a personal best over 10K, a debut half marathon, or a successfully completed marathon, the finishing straight is the moment when months of preparation are transformed into emotion, pride, and satisfaction.

It is precisely there, just a few steps from the finish line, that the ASICS Cheering Zone will once again be located this year – one of the most emotional spots along the course of Wizz Air Sofia Marathon 2026.

The zone will be located in the area around the intersection of Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard and Rakovski Street – a strategic point just before the finish line, where participants will receive a final boost of energy and support before crossing the line.

This year, Wizz Air Sofia Marathon will take place over two days, both offering a rich programme and a large number of participants. Another new feature is that the ASICS Cheering Zone will also be present on both race days, giving supporters the opportunity to cheer on runners across all distances.

On October 10, participants in the 5K FIB Mass Run and the 10K Garmin Run will pass through the ASICS Cheering Zone. The following day, October 11, runners in the longer distances will be welcomed there: the 21K Address Run Half Marathon, the 42K ASICS Marathon, and the newest discipline in the programme – the 2 x 21K Relay.

We expect the zone to once again become a true celebration of support. Families, friends, colleagues, and running enthusiasts will be able to encourage participants with applause, music, and creative signs. And, as tradition dictates, the most creative and entertaining messages will once again be recognised with special prizes.

Support from spectators often proves decisive in the final kilometres of a race. A smile, applause, or a short encouraging message can provide an extra boost exactly when it is needed most.
